Overview

This Round Amber LED Turtle Friendly Bollard Light features 600-610nm wavelength amber light with field-selectable wattage. It provides nighttime visibility for pedestrians with minimal ecological impact. This bollard is designed to protect marine life. Its louvered reflector directs the light downward, away from the night sky. The bollard's 360° x 100° beam angle is ideal for walkways, boardwalks, and piers. It's constructed of a durable powder-coated die-cast aluminum housing. Its high-impact polycarbonate lens is resistant to scratches, discoloration, and UV damage. Install using existing bollard hardware or use the Anchor Mounting Bracket (sold separately) for new concrete installation.

Turtle-friendly lighting is designed to drastically reduce the disorientating effects of artificial light pollution on the nesting instincts of turtles and other coastal wildlife. Fixtures that are designed to be turtle-friendly will have an ultra-warm or amber color temperature with a wavelength longer than 560 nanometers. They are full cutoff fixtures where most of the light is directed downward, minimizing the effect on the beach or night sky. Use turtle-friendly lights in beachfront and coastal locations to ensure they remain dark enough for wildlife navigation while still offering adequate lighting for people.
