A Smarter Alternative to Metal Halides
Whether you are outfitting a new construction or replacing outdated fixtures, LED canopy lights offer a multitude of advantages. LED canopy lights are a modern and efficient alternative to traditional metal halide fixtures. These lights consume up to 75% less energy than metal halide fixtures to reduce overall energy costs. When compared to metal halides, LEDs have a better efficacy, meaning they convert a higher percentage of energy into light. LEDs also last significantly longer, with some lights reaching a 55,000-hour L70 lifetime. This extended lifetime not only lowers maintenance expenses but also reduces the frequency of buying replacement parts.
Canopy Lighting Applications
Canopy lights are most often used in gas stations and parking garages, but they are also commonly installed in overhangs, drive-throughs, loading docks, industrial entryways, industrial facilities, covered walkways, vestibules, and tunnels. Their bright, reliable lighting enhances security and visibility in these outdoor spaces. All of our LED canopy lights have an IP65 rating or above, so they are ideal for damp or wet outdoor environments.
Key Features of Our LED Canopy Light Fixtures
At Super Bright LEDs, our range of LED canopy lights is designed to meet your diverse outdoor lighting needs. Many of our fixtures include an integrated bypassable photocell and built-in motion sensors that automatically control the lighting to save money on operating costs. Additionally, we carry LED canopy lights with selectable wattage and CCT. This allows you to match the light output of any outdated metal halide you wish to replace. Most canopy fixtures are surface-mounted, but we also carry lights with a conduit mount option.
Beam Angle and Distribution Pattern
Canopy lights also have a wide beam angle to ensure illumination over a large, broad area. Due to their square or round fixture shape, most canopy lights have an evenly shaped light distribution. This is most commonly classified as a Type V-M distribution pattern. When choosing what fixture and beam angle is best for your application, consider the mounting height and area you need to be lighted: lights that are mounted from a high distance typically require a narrower beam or a brighter light output.
Standards and Certifications
When selecting commercial lighting, it is important to choose light fixtures that meet certain performance and safety certifications. Our selection of LED canopy lights is certified by UL and DLC Premium to grant you peace of mind over the quality, performance, and efficiency of your lighting.
