Overview

This super-bright LED light strip reel is great for creating a high-power light fixture. It operates on 24 VDC and can be used in longer runs than 12V strips. The powerful LED tape light emits 1,317 lumens of cool, natural, or warm white illumination per foot. And with a high CRI (color-rendering index) of up to 94, light from the LEDs will show the true colors of any object or surrounding. The 98' quad-row LED tape light can be easily cut into separate 24-LED segments and installed with its peel-and-stick 3Mâ„¢ adhesive backing. Wire the strip back to your power source every 16.4' to avoid excessive voltage drop. This strip is designed to last 60,000 hours. It's great for retail shops, supermarkets, food and meat cases, museums, galleries, videography, and other indoor applications where presentation, appearance, and depth of color are critical. Also available in custom lengths.

LED Strip Lights FAQs

What is the difference between 12V and 24V strip lights?

Most LED strips are extremely similar despite differences in voltage. They look the same and are capable of similar light output. Despite this, there are some key differences between voltages which affect use for various applications. 12-volt DC strips can be connected directly to a vehicle's 12-volt DC electrical system. Higher voltage strips (e.g. 24 VDC, 36 VDC, or 48 VDC) on the other hand allow for longer runs and higher densities of LEDs over their 12-volt counterparts. 120 VAC strips offer incredibly long max runs and the ability to power from a standard wall outlet. For the maximum run of a strip see max run in the specification table. Read More »

How long of a run can I make my strip?

The max run of an LED strip is dependent on two primary things—voltage and density.

Higher voltage strips will generally give you a longer run than comparable lower voltage strips (e.g. 24 VDC would have a longer max run than 12 VDC with the same type of strip and density). Similarly, lower density strips have the potential for longer runs than high density strips.

So essentially, max run can be lengthened by choosing a higher voltage and/or lower density version of a strip, but a higher voltage could also provide a similar max run at an increased density where brightness or 'line of light' are more of a concern. If an install needs to extend beyond a strips max run, additional power feeds can also be run back to the power supply from other points in the run.

Please refer to the max run spec listed in the specification table of each product information page for specific information about each strip. Read More »

What is color temperature? Which one is best?

Graphic showing light output color temperature range

Correlated Color Temperature is the hue, or tint of white to expect from a light source and is measured in kelvin. Lower numbers give off a warmer white that is closer to candle light, and is good for relaxed and cozy spaces. Higher numbers give off a cooler white light that will appear more blueish. While values to the middle of the spectrum give off a more neutral or natural white light that is similar to daylight. Natural and cool white are considered ideal for task lighting.

How bright is the strip? What are lumens and how many do I need?

Lumens are the measure of how bright an LED strip will be when in use. The higher the lumen rating, the brighter the strip will be. Higher lumen strips are usually better for under cabinet and task lighting. Lower lumen strips are typically used for accent lighting applications.

What accessories do I need?

The only thing you need for certain to power a strip light is a power supply. We offer accessories used for installation, such as connectors and aluminum mounting channels. As well as others that add functionality such as such as dimmers, switches, and remote controls. Complete kits are also offered which include everything you need to get started.
