What Do the Different Colors on Strobe Lights Mean?

Our emergency strobe lights come in various colors, and each color has a different purpose. However, the use of certain colors may vary between states and countries. However, the common uses of each are listed below. 

• Red: Red flashing lights are commonly associated with emergencies and are used in police vehicles, fire trucks, and ambulances.

• Blue: Blue strobe lights are primarily used by police and law enforcement.

• Amber: Amber emergency lights are typically installed on tractor-trailers, construction vehicles, tow trucks, wreckers, public works, and escort vehicles. They can also be used for directing traffic. 

• White: White strobe lights are usually paired with red or blue lights on police vehicles, ambulances, and fire trucks.

• Green: Green flashing lights are primarily used by volunteer responders, the Department of Homeland Security, and private security.

• Purple: Purple strobe lights are most often used by vehicles in funeral processions.

Can You Mount a Strobe Light to a Plastic Grille?

Yes, you can generally install LED strobe lights onto a plastic grille as long as the grille is sturdy and secure. For a heavy strobe, you may need bumper reinforcements. 

Will an LED Grille Mounted Strobe Light Help With Fog?

LED strobe lights can help cut through fog in adverse weather conditions due to their intense light output. We recommend using lights with a longer wavelength, such as an amber color, that will cut through the fog better than shorter wavelengths (blue), ensuring others on the road can see your vehicle.
