What Are Vehicle LED Area Lights?
LED vehicle area lights deliver an intense light output with a concentrated beam angle. This powerful illumination ensures there is sufficient light for general overhead lighting, task lighting, security lighting, or whatever else your application requires. These lights are ideal for providing powerful illumination for the interior and exterior of various vehicles, including RVs, campers, trailers, UTVs, utility vehicles, and more. These lights can also be installed as ambient lighting for an RV/camper’s porch or awning.

What’s the Difference Between Interior Lights and Utility Lights?
Interior and utility lights differ in where they’re installed and how they’re used. Interior lights are often used inside vehicles for general overhead or task lighting. Utility lights are commonly installed along the exterior or outside of a vehicle to provide illumination for workspaces, security lighting, and porch/awning areas.
What Are the Benefits of Using Vehicle Area Lights?
Properly installing these lights can increase visibility and enhance safety. LED vehicle area lights operate up to 50,000 hours, exceeding the lifespan of traditional area lights. This is due to their energy efficiency, which also leads to less battery strain. Our lights are backed by multi-year warranties if you experience product malfunction or failure (not applicable if failure was caused by wrongful use or repair of the product).
How to Add LED Lights to an RV Awning
First, choose the fixture you want to use. The right fixture for you will depend on both personal preference and application needs. Some factors are listed below.
-
Size: We carry lengths ranging from 5 inches to 22 inches.
-
Color: Black or white color options are available.
-
Lumens: We have products with lumens as low as 630 lumens or as high as 4,000 lumens. The larger the area you’re illuminating, the more lumens you’ll need.
Drill holes and mount the lights using the included hardware. Then, connect and route the wiring to your vehicle’s wiring system. We also offer flashlights, toggle and rocker switches, additional power wire, connectors, and more in the “Accessories & Power Supplies” section of the product pages for more assistance in installing and operating the lights.

What Color/CCT Should I Use for My Vehicle Area Light?
Choose the color or CCT of your light based on the light’s purpose.
-
A warm CCT is suitable if you’re installing the lights inside an RV or camper and want to create a more relaxing environment.
-
An amber light is often recommended for the outdoors, especially when installed along the exterior of an RV or camper, because it is less detectable by wildlife.
-
A cool or natural CCT will create a more intense light, which could be better for UTVs, trailers, work areas, or as security lighting.
Are Vehicle Area Lights Durable Enough to Use for Auxiliary Lighting Applications?
