Superbright light saber
I constructed a light saber using a string of these LEDs for the blade. It is incredibly bright! The 120 degree viewing angle is great because it spreads the light to the sides. I previously made a light saber with regular LEDs, and I needed to flatten the tops in order to get more even lighting.
Also: the tech support at superbrightleds answered a bunch of my questions about the various LED choices, which was very helpful.
Console Lighting/Indicators
I bought eight of these LEDs. Six to illuminate my center console, and two to act as a pair of hi/lo indicators. There's a problem, unfortunately. The LEDs themselves work great, but note the lack of a ridge around the bottom of the LED. This ridge is what allows them to clip into lenses. Without it, they slide in and out. Fortunately, some super glue solves that problem.
If you plan on using them with a lens of somekind, I'd strongly recommend purchasing another model. If it's going on a PCB, no problems.
Still a good product, and I don't regret my purchase. Just thankful for superglue.
