Please note that the G4-RGB3W, and the Smart Life app are only capable of connecting to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. It will not work on 5.0 GHz networks.
Most 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi routers broadcast both a 5.0 GHz and 2.4 GHz network along side one another. However this is not always the case. Please check your Wi-Fi configuration before purchasing this product.

RGB Wifi in very small form factor
I was hoping to replace the firmware on this device so I'm not trapped into tuya. It appears on my network as a ESP_E9858A, but my attempts to update the firmware OTA were not successful.
I'm hoping to use this in some different landscape lights, but I want them to be tied into the rest of my home automation. I.e., when I arrive home it should turn on the lights, it should set the color based on the holiday, etc..
Each Tuya device can choose what platforms it integrates with. Unfortunately, SmartThings isn't one of them, but Alexa and Google home both are.
The diffuser is easily removed but presents no obvious programming pads. I guess the one pad exposed can be used to program the device.
