Excellent for Relamping Fluor. Fixtures with LEDs
The previous version of this product was rated for 3A. I bought six of them (plus a couple spares) for a project where I relamped 12V RV fluorescent light fixtures with LED "bulbs." With a tap (on/off) or press-and-hold (dim/brighten) I can vary the LED output to suit the needs of the moment. One of the units did fail in service (hence the spares). I can imagine the higher 6A rating would help reduce the chances for failure. Enclosed is a photo of the product as installed.

problems with cold?
I don't know if the problem is my fingers or in the switch, but this thing only works intermittently. I think it is temperature related. I've tried warming the switch. I've also tried warming my hands though that has been more difficult. The switch will suddenly start working again and when it does work it is fine. Another review mentioned that the switch doesn't like cold weather. It doesn't even seem to like cool weather, or cold hands.

Response
If used in cold weather the moisture on the skin is much less and the sensor may not operate properly. Try moistening fingers first in this case.

Very nice dimmer/switch, bargain price
This switch/dimmer is made of aluminum. It is very easy to use and small enough to fit just about anywhere. I used it on a custom made vertical mill spotlight fixture I made and it is perfect for that. So far it is reliable. It does have a cool factor. My son used the second one to set up some kick panel spotlights in his pickup truck. Bottom line is it is a quality piece at a bargain price.
