Lumen meters are a great way to measure white light output but can be deceptive for colored bulb intensity. Lumens measure light wavelengths in all colors of the visible spectrum. Because multiple wavelengths create white light and colored bulbs are a single-wavelength source, colored bulbs will have lower lumen readings. However, they will appear equally as bright as a white bulb. | ![]() |

2015 Yamaha SR400 Tail/Brake bulb
I purchased a Yamaha SR400 with one mile on the odometer. After riding around, and performing a once over, I decided to check the bulbs for intensity. At 100ft away, I could tell immediately that the stock incandescent tail bulb was inadequate. I ordered this bulb, as it was the best fit(found I had more room). I snapped a photo each, of pre/post-LED running and brake light action. These bulbs snap on faster, and are brighter on both accounts. I feel safer knowing that these lights can be seen. As you can see in the photos, just the running LED is brighter than the activated stock bulb.
I will be using these bulbs in amber for my front marker/turn signal.
Same size as a normal 1157 bulb
Installed these in the brake lights on a motorcycle trailer with a Harley light assembly. They fit where the (1157RHP28T:Red) bulbs are to long and are brighter than the original incandescent bulbs. I wish more of the bulbs were built like these, the glass cover over the LEDs helps protect them from dust & moisture. I recommend these bulbs to anyone looking to switch to LEDs.
Very good. But not as good as I hoped.
Bulbs arrived quickly and in good shape. They appear to be high quality. They are sized well and I appreciate the glass over the actual LEDs. I purchased two to replace the bulbs on my motorcycle's brake light.
Unfortunately, they are not as bright as I was expecting.
In both of the attached images, the new LED bulb is on the right and the old bulb on the left. In the dimmer ("running lights") photo, the brakes are not applied. Here you can see that the new bulb (on the right) is slightly brighter. In the second photo (brakes applied) they are about the same with, possibly, a small edge going to the old bulb (on the left).
I'm keeping them as the LEDs snap on faster than the incandescent bulbs. But at $20 per unit, I was expecting a far greater improvement.
