Kitchen Upgrade
I purchased 7 of these fixtures to install in the ceiling in my kitchen. I used a 4" hole saw to cut the drywall. It worked but I would recommend a 4-1/8". Some additional advice; I recommend to not installed the romex cable clamp in the provide opening that are above the spring clamp device. Since you will discover that when the clamp is swung full up it will hit the cable clamp. The springs on the clamp devices are VERY strong so watch your fingers during installation. Since the rafters above my kitchen were not on fixed 16" centers and there were heating ducts and plumbing in them, I first drilled a 1/4" hole and then took a piece of 1/4 tubing bent 90 deg with a reach of 2". I then stuck the tubing through the hole and rotated it the full 360 deg to confirm that when I used the hole saw I would not hit a rafter or be directly under a pipe or heating duct.
The final result was a A+ installation. I installed on about 40" centers and would say I have more than enough light.
quality product
These led “can” light are great quality, easy to install (I was replacing halogen can lights) and wish I had done it years ago. The dimmable feature made the decision to make the swap. The attached junction box and super easy to use spring clips made installation a snap.
