Insane amount of noise
I thought something was wrong when we connected this power supply to power. Shocked at how loud this thing is, and the fan runs 24/7 whether the lights are on or not. Product description doesn't have 1 word about the noise... to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Don't understand how anyone could use this inside any house. We have it inside the attic running power to some cove lighting, the fan is audible everywhere inside the 2400 sq. foot house. Boo.
good power with a noisy surprise
powered up my LED project as advertised, and should be a 5-star. HOWEVER, I expected a PC type of quiet cooling fan, and not the very NOISY one this transformer came with! It was so loud that I had to re-design of where it was to be housed so as not to drive the homeowner crazy with the high-pitch whine 24/7!
Very noisy fan
The fan in this is crazy loud - it is totally unacceptable. We have it in the floor below our great room where the lights are installed (it is in the ceiling of the basement). It is so loud we can't stand it while in the basement, and can even hear it through the floor from upstairs. It runs 24/7, not just while the lights are on. We are going to have to find something different.
Great power supply - but with LOAD fan!
Great power supply - i thought i would save by combining three small supplies into one larger.
That would have been a GREAT IDEA - except i didn't read the fine print about the internal fan on this power supply. And if i did, i thought the fan would be quiet like the one on my PC...
Nope. This is a load fan and i couldn't find anywhere in my kitchen to hide it.
So - keep that in mind if you can't locate it where the fan noise won't be an issue.
The noise is approximately between the noise made by my full-size refrigerator when it is cooling and my dishwasher. I am sure SuperBrightLED's will be great about changing it out quickly.. I just wish i knew!
