Stout and Bright
I haven't used them underwater yet, but will do so (and submit photos) soon. As far as the light - I got the blue LEDs, and they are incredibly bright. The housing is stout and feels solid, and is stainless steel. The wiring appears to be well sealed in the housing, is protected by a second rubber insulator, and is long enough to fish through your transom and to a point where you can splice it into your power supply, or at least into a wire to run to your power supply.
A few criticisms / things to be aware of - 1: The back is not flush, and the raised area around the wiring (center) was slightly thicker than the flanges around the outside - this meant either grinding down the gel-coat in the center, grinding the light, or being careful to make sure it mounted flush. Either way, use a liberal amount of sealant (not provided) like 3M 4200 or similar. 2: No mounting hardware is provided, so make sure to find your own stainless screws to use.
Overall, they seem great.
Response from Super Bright LEDs:
Powerful lighting for a moderate price
I purchased three of these lights in white to use on a 24ft ski boat in fresh water. They are fantastic at night, and when correctly placed, will light up wake while underway.
i placed two on the hull on the left and right, and one dead center on my wake gate. it shines about 20ft or so. My lake is green/blue, and the light is very clear and white for about 10 feet, then the color of the lake becomes more and more evident. fish love the light produced. i went with white because it penetrates the lake a little better, and because my lake is green/blue anyways.
