Motorcycle Engine LED Lighting Kit
Briefly connect the strips red positive wire to positive (+) on battery, and black negative wire to negative (-) on battery to test for proper light operation.
Hold light strip under the tank to determine the length needed for your installation. Strips may be trimmed. See cutting details below.
Make sure wires can be routed in a such a way that they will not be pinched, cut, or exposed to direct heat or moving parts. If a power wire is pinched it could cause the kit to malfunction, and may void the warranty due to physical damage.
Make sure motorcycle is cool; mounting surface should be between 45°F ~ 80°F to achieve the strongest bonding results from strips adhesive backing. Motorcycle should be parked on a flat surface and secured for installation. Ensure the installation surface is clean and dry, free from any oils, dirt, wax, and moisture.
Locate battery and unhook the battery negative (-) cable. Remove seat or side covers as needed to gain access to this area.
Starting from the front of the tank with the strip’s wires to the rear of tank, begin to remove strips backing while adhering to underside of tank near frame. Press firmly to secure strip to surface. Repeat for other side of tank.
Using the diagram as a guide, connect black negative wires from both strips to snap spade and ground to frame or negative (-) side of battery
Use a wire nut to connect red positive wires from both strips, along with one black wire from toggle switch.
Connect the remaining black wire from the toggle switch to one orange wire from the fuse holder using a wire nut. Insert 2A fuse into holder.
Connect remaining orange wire from fuse holder to positive (+) side of battery using a snap spade.
To seal wire side of snap spade connectors, use a heat gun or another heat source.
Mount the toggle switch to a convenient location below the seat.
Cut strips to appropriate length using scissors on lines indicated with scissor icon. Strip can only be cut on these lines, when cutting, be sure to cut the strips in groups of LEDs that are in multiples of 3. Cutting the strip in the wrong location will cause the strip to fail, and void warranty.
- Observe strip polarity, reversing strip polarity may damage strips
- Power strips only from 12V DC source
- Never use with other than included 2 Amp / 12 Volt mini blade fuse. If you are blowing this fuse, it means you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Using a larger fuse could result in a fire or fry your lights.

2. Max Run (or maximum run) is used to recommend the total number of devices that can run in succession without experiencing dimming due to excessive voltage drop in a series circuit (end to end). When Max Run is reached, power wires for additional devices must be 'home run' directly back to the power source, starting a new run.
|Part NO||Total Length||Strip Width||Emitting Color||CCT / Wavelength |
CCT is used to express the color or shade of white light. The Correlated Color Temperature is the measure of the color appearance of the light emitted from a light source, measured in degrees kelvin (K). The CCT rating is a general 'warmth' or 'coolness' measure of its appearance. Wavelength is used to express a specific color of light other than whites. Wavelength is the portion of the visible spectrum that the human eye can detect, between 380 and 700 nanometers (nm). When trying to match an existing bulb color choose a replacement that most closely matches the CCT or wavelength of the original.
|Intensity Per Foot||Intensity||Radiant Power||Beam Angle |
Beam angle is used to express the width of the light emitting from the source. The narrower the beam angle the more focused the light energy is. Comparing two 40 watt lights one with a beam angle of 30(a) and another with a beam angle of 90(b), They both produce the same amount of light output but (a) will appear brighter in the beam angle compared to (b) at the sacrifice of light spread.
|Current Draw per Foot @ 12 Volts DC |
Current Draw Per Foot is used to size power supplies, normally converted to watts per foot. This is equated using total wattage divided by number of linear feet. Current draw per foot is the amount of current consumed by an LED or LEDs in an electrical circuit per linear foot at a specific voltage, measured in milliamps (mA) or watts (W).
|Current Draw @ 12 Volts DC |
Current Draw is used to size fuses and wire for a circuit. Current draw is the amount of energy consumed by an LED or LEDs in an electrical circuit at a specific voltage, measured in amps (A) or milliamps (mA).

Light IT UP
I have installed a couple of these light kits on motorcycles and have been very happy with the turnout. Both of the kits that I have installed had a remote. Installation is very simple and very easy to install. Takes longer to clean areas where light bars will stick than actual hard wiring. These kits have everything needed to do a professional job of installing and looks great. Impress your friends and install one of the many kits and be the talk of the town.
Super Pleased with this Product...Outstanding Color these LEDs put Out...Lit Up My 2011 Street Glide Beautifully...Very easy Installation.
