Overview

This complete Motorcycle Engine LED Lighting Kit comes with everything needed for a clean, professional installation on your motorcycle. The kit includes 2 flexible, weatherproof LED strips that are perfect for engine lighting on choppers and cruisers, fairing lighting on sport bikes and street bikes. Strips are 20” long and can be cut into 3-LED segments. A multi-mode controller, On/Off toggle switch, or controller with key fob remote controls the LED strips. Easy installation with peel-and-stick 3M VHB adhesive backing. Available in cool, natural and warm white, UV (blacklight), blue, green, yellow, amber and red. Pre-test & Configure

Briefly connect the strips red positive wire to positive (+) on battery, and black negative wire to negative (-) on battery to test for proper light operation.

Hold light strip under the tank to determine the length needed for your installation. Strips may be trimmed.

Make sure wires can be routed in a such a way that they will not be pinched, cut, or exposed to direct heat or moving parts. If a power wire is pinched it could cause the kit to malfunction, and may void the warranty due to physical damage.

Installation

Make sure motorcycle is cool; mounting surface should be between 45°F ~ 80°F to achieve the strongest bonding results from strips adhesive backing. Motorcycle should be parked on a flat surface and secured for installation. Ensure the installation surface is clean and dry, free from any oils, dirt, wax, and moisture.

Locate battery and unhook the battery negative (-) cable. Remove seat or side covers as needed to gain access to this area.

Warning
Negative (-) battery cable must be unhooked first to avoid fire hazard
  1. Starting from the front of the tank with the strip’s wires to the rear of tank, begin to remove strips backing while adhering to underside of tank near frame. Press firmly to secure strip to surface. Repeat for other side of tank.
  2. Using the diagram as a guide, connect black negative wires from both strips to snap spade and ground to frame or negative (-) side of battery.
  3. Use a wire nut to connect red positive wires from both strips, along with one black wire from toggle switch.
  4. Connect the remaining black wire from the toggle switch to one orange wire from the fuse holder using a wire nut. Insert 2A fuse into holder.
  5. Connect remaining orange wire from fuse holder to positive (+) side of battery using a snap spade.
  6. To seal wire side of snap spade connectors, use a heat gun or another heat source.
  7. Mount the toggle switch to a convenient location below the seat.
Selecting an Option
  • The Toggle Switch option is the easiest to wire and provides a simple ON or OFF mode.
  • The In-Line option provides you with the standard ON or OFF mode as well as 5 dynamic flashing modes with adjustable speeds.
  • The Remote option allows you to control your kit from a distance and has 3 strobe modes, 4 brightness levels, fade modes, and your standard ON or OFF mode.

Cutting

Cut strips to appropriate length using scissors on lines indicated with scissor icon. Strip can only be cut on these lines, when cutting, be sure to cut the strips in groups of LEDs that are in multiples of 3. Cutting the strip in the wrong location will cause the strip to fail, and void warranty.

Safety
  • Observe strip polarity, reversing strip polarity may damage strips
  • Power strips only from 12 VDC source
  • Never use with other than included 2 Amp / 12 Volt mini blade fuse. If you are blowing this fuse, it means you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Using a larger fuse could result in a fire or fry your lights.

  3. Use a wire nut to connect red positive wires (+) from both strips, along with red wire from the LC2 pigtail. Plug the LC2 connector from the Mini Controller to the LC2 pigtail.
  4. Ground the black wire from the CPS-PT pigtail to the frame or negative battery terminal using the supplied snap spade.
  5. Connect the red wire from the CPS-PT pigtal to the mini fuse holder with a wire nut. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to a positive battery supply using the supplied snap spade.
  6. Insert the male to male CPS-M2M adapter into the CPS-PT adapter then insert into the CPS socket on the MLD-5ALC2 controller.
  7. Mount the controller to a convenient location below the seat using double-sided adhesive foam pads and large zip ties.
  8. Reconnect battery negative (-) cable and test.

  4. Connect remaining red power wire with integrated fuse from RF controller box to positive (+) contact of battery using snap spade connector
  5. Mount the RF controller box to a convenient location below the seat using double-sided adhesive foam pads and large zip ties.
  6. Reconnect battery negative (-) cable and test using the key fob remote for proper installation.

Light IT UP

I have installed a couple of these light kits on motorcycles and have been very happy with the turnout. Both of the kits that I have installed had a remote. Installation is very simple and very easy to install. Takes longer to clean areas where light bars will stick than actual hard wiring. These kits have everything needed to do a professional job of installing and looks great. Impress your friends and install one of the many kits and be the talk of the town.

Great LED's

Purchased Blue LED's for my 2013 Hertiage Softtail and installation was too easy and results are great. One note: Indiana if your LED's are Red or Blue you cannot use the flash mode while running as it looks like a cop or emergency vechile and you could get a ticket. Just saying!

MUST Have For A Motorcycle Enthusiast!

These strips are very nice quality. I have bought some off of Ebay before that were much cheaper, but after holding these in my hands I can literally feel the difference in quality. They are heavier. The 3M stick is very sticky too! After installing two kits on my 2013 Honda Goldwing F6B in the front radiator openings and underneath the rear saddlebags they look awesome! I am so excited how well this turned out. Can't wait to do another LED project soon!

Fantastic product

Installed these on the frame under the gas tank and under the rear fender of my Triumph. Looks great and easy to install. I cleaned the surfaces throughly then used rubbing alchohol to get good adhesion before I installed them

I would highly recommend this kit to anyone.
