Does not fit
As others have mentioned, this does not fit some newer (japanese?) vehicle's 194 sockets. The base of the standard bulbs in my 2015 WRX mic @ 9.65mm and with the insulator on the bottom of these, they're 10.55mm. They will fit if the insulator is removed, but that's not an option in sockets that have vertical conductors as well as wedge-type conductors.
Unexpectedly bright for a small bulb
I bought a pair of these several years ago and they seem to be the brightest small 194-style bulbs I've come across. The aluminum casing helps dissipate heat, and they do get hot with continued use, but so does any regular incandescent bulb. These would be excellent in an automotive lamp housing, but check the clearances since the base of the bulb can be larger than a recessed socket will allow.
Great for certain applications
Bought the white light emitting bulb for my backup lights on my Nissan Titan. The same bulb in Amber color, didn't work for me for my side marker. The housing was a hair too long to fit. Be sure to cross check clearance if you can before ordering.
