Lumen meters are a great way to measure white light output but can be deceptive for colored bulb intensity. Lumens measure light wavelengths in all colors of the visible spectrum. Because multiple wavelengths create white light and colored bulbs are a single-wavelength source, colored bulbs will have lower lumen readings. However, they will appear equally as bright as a white bulb. | ![]() |

bright but not functional
I purchased a pair of these A27's and a pair of A45's to replace all four of the 7443 incandescent bulbs in my Yamaha WR250R. These A27's are very bright in both running light and turn signal intensities, but the difference between the two is nearly undetectable in daylight. They also caused a "fast blink" despite having installed an LED-specific flasher unit. Lastly, the base is labeled as a 7443 but they are a VERY tight fit. They required a lot of force and lube to seat in their sockets. Just not a useful, quality bulb in my opinion. For the same price, the 7443-A45-T is a better bulb in every way but outright brightness. The A45's use less power, fit much better in a 7443 socket, and have a very noticeable step in intensity between running light and turn signal functions.
Replacement Tail Light Bulbs - Silverado
I wanted to convert to LED bulbs because I like the way they go from Full On to Complete Off without the dimming affect of a filament bulb. They are sharp and quick. I wasn't expecting them to be much brighter than a stock bulb because the engineers design the housing and reflector to maximize the intensity of a stock bulb. They did that very well. I can see a minor increase in the brightness over the regular 7444, but again, that wasn't why I bought them. They suit my needs perfectly.
I also changed the Top Light bulb, added strobe module and four resistor kits.
