great mag-lite replacement bulb
Dropped this bulb in my 3 D cell Mag-Lite (serial number beginning with D).
Great light output and good color, not too blue. Good throw and focus ability retained from the body. Can't wait for dark to go test it out in the yard! Not up to today's latest technology standards, but I am impressed. Puts an almost 20 year old workhorse back in service!
Shipping was prompt and items carefully packaged.
A great upgrade for my D-Cell MagLite
I have an old 2 D-Cell Mag-Lite that was given to me as a gift many years ago. It has been a faithful companion in my trusty tool bag. Lately I have been disappointed that I have gotten such a dim light from this great instrument. The cheap $5.00 disposable LED flashlights gave a seemingly brighter beam. It always looked like I had dead batteries, even after putting fresh ones in. After replacing the standard bulb with this LED unit, my old friend has new life. I'm looking forward to some extended battery life from the LED as well, vs. the old standard bulb.
My Secret Weapon
Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a Lightaholic! I've got MANY LED tactical lights to choose from. With that being said, I've taken to riding a bicycle again, but I'm not impressed with the latest offerings. I don't like external battery packs, either. I've found New Old Stock 2 "C" cell Halogen bike lights for three bucks each. Not at all impressive, especially to the bike geeks I meet along the path. Little do they know I've got 3 Watt LED replacements in each of my two units. The "WOW" factor is incredible! Plus, since they use "C" cells I get plenty of run-time! A true "Sleeper!" I've just ordered more so I can have four lights mounted on my light-bar. Everyone will just assume it's because of the old tech lights. But when it gets dark, "Wait 'till they get a load of me!"
