Bright and compact
They're bright, compact, and will make perfect turn signals for my Jeep project. They are bright from the side and the front, so you get a nice option of angles from where to mount and where people can see them from. I feel like these are brighter and better than the RMPC-A (non LP) version, which I also ordered.
One IMPORTANT note - both of the ones I received had the wiring backwards from everything else I've ever seen. Typically black denotes ground, and any other color would be the positive. I originally set it up that way, but it didn't work. After swapping, with the white to ground and the black to positive, they worked fine. I ordered two of these and 2 of the RMPC-A (non LP) and all 4 were wired the same.
Perfect marker lights for my kayak trailer
These little lights fit perfectly in 1/2 schedule 40 t-connectors, making it very easy to add some elevated marker lights to my kayak trailer. I used both the red and amber so I'd have front and rear markers.
I'd noticed in the other reviews some comments about the polarity. Every trailer (all boat trailers) I've ever owned, the wiring is white for ground, brown for tail/marker lights, and then yellow and green for left and right brake lights / turn signals. I expected the white wire to be ground based on this, so connected the white to the trailer and tied the black into the existing brown wires and everything worked as expected.
Great tip on the wiring, Kevin
The polarity was reversed on my LED lights, too, although it was correct on the two other LED license plate lights I ordered at the same time. Fortunately, I read Kevin's review about the reversed polarity on the RMPC-A-LP lights and tested mine before I installed them.
An easy way to determine polarity is to use a 9V battery; if the light works when the black wire goes to the (+) terminal and the white wire goes to the (-) terminal, the polarity is reversed. Most LED lights are polarity-sensitive while incandescent bulbs are not.
Other than that, both the other reviews are right on. I'm happy with my RMPC-A-LP lights, and the license plate LED lights, too.
they are bright !!
I put these in my grill & side fenders on a 2011 jeep wrangler sport unlimited.
Really made the look cool!! They are some bright light's , do not look directly at them unless you want to go BLIND !!!!
I will be buying some more soon .
Plan on do ground affects later.
Super Bright Indeed
Read the comments on how bright these lights were and decided to give them a try. They are really bright. Don't look into them you will be seeing spots until your vision re-adjusts. Easy to install. I placed them on the inside of my motorcycle saddle bags facing the wheel. They light up the back of the bike at night and during the day they appear to be extra lights when they reflect off the rear fender. Great product.
