SSMBPC series 3 Lamp Truck/Trailer ID Light Bar
I used this product to replace my old three lamp light bar on my Shortland'r trailer and it matched perfectly. I picked up a couple of new 5/16" x 3/4" self drilling stainless steel screws from my local hardware store and re-used the existing mounting holes to attach it to the trailer.
The LED kit does not come with a ground wire so be sure to take care of your old one or replace if with a new one. Do not use the frame or chassis in lieu of a separate ground conductor and also waterproofing the connection will help prolong any future maintenance and trouble shooting. There is no marked point to attach the ground to so I used one of the mounting screw that attaches the light to the metal frame from the rear.
Finally with the trailer hooked up and the lights on they look great even during the mid day sun the brightness of the light could be seen easily.
Well build but would have liked a grounding wire
Not yet installed, but appears to be a quality built product - the main reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the lack of a dedicated ground wire - grounds through the metal frame of fixture, and intended to ground through trailer body/frame like many fixtures, but would have liked to have a dedicated ground wire as I run home-run grounds back to a connection box at the tongue vs. dealing with trailer frame ground issues. There is no obviously place to mount a ground that will be totally hidden - the LEDs themselves have an grounding pad on the back of the fixture that presses to the metal frame when the LED element is screwed down - and the way the frame is done there is not really space to have a crimp ring terminal behind. May have to ground the trailer frame just for this one fixture....
