Excellent replacament marker lights
I bought the amber version to replace the 23 year old side marker lights on my fifth wheel travel trailer. After so many years the old ones finally succumbed to the dirt, sun, rain and heat. These are much brighter and use much, much less power than the old incandescent ones. Since there is a fairly long wire run and the trailer manufacturer used a small gauge wire, I knew voltage drop is an concern. These only draw about 80mA at 12V, this was not going to be a problem. The old incandescent one barely glowed and these? Well, they are bright, day or night.
These also seem to be well made. They were larger (in length) and I knew that going in as drilling a new hole was not an issue.
Filled full of water after a few trips..
The IP 65 rating for these is complete nonsense, these are not certified but just advertised as such. I bought 7 of them and half of them are sealed completely and the other half let water in like a kids pool toy. These are very simple plastic lights that should be 100 percent water proof with no problem but instead the plastic/glue that fuse the back and front together just leak all the way around instead of seal. Complete waste of time buying this product. You WILL find moisture in your lights at some point. I had one of mine fill completely with water and another had green corroded water pouring out of the bottom. There is NO reason these shouldn't be waterproof. I salvaged the rest of mine by drying them out and simply sealing them with silicone. I had to order 2 more to replace the damaged ones so I could sell the trailer..
