Night and day in My subaru forester
I am truly amazed by the amount of crisp light output from these little replacements. I did both map lights, dome light over the back seat and one in the trunk area. I'm just blown away with the amount of light that these can put out. I'm going to go search my car for lost treasure( car coinage) that has fallen in the cracks.
A nice incremental upgrade over stock
Installed these on my 2015 Lancer Evolution. The light is slightly but noticeably brighter than the stock bulb. I attached two imaged, both taken with the same exact settings. You can best see the difference on my jeans. Other parts are black and farther away so might not show the difference.
It's also nicely soft white and comes on immediately, instead of having to warm up. It retains the normal "fade" effect when the computer turns it on and off for open door.
I had to push the contacts out a bit as the bulb is maybe 2mm wider than stock, but no real issue there.
Near perfect light
The "warm white" of these is less yellowish than most, yet not a harsh cool white. very good color rendition and illumination level. A bit on the bright side for driver side map light. Might replace that one with red for better night vision and driver only needs area illumination, not for reading maps.
Generally, this improvement does not emulate luxury car lighting or provide mood lighting, just very good illumination throughout the cabin.
Worthwhile upgrade
Replaced the dome and trunk light in an 07 Prius - much brighter than the stock bulb.
However the pin spacing is significantly wider than the stock bulb so it had to be forced into the dome light socket, and the trunk light socket had to be bent to fit but otherwise fits and works fine. Love the quality of the light it puts out. Docked a star for the fit
