Overview

This R7s LED bulb is designed for use in work light and flood light fixtures that accept T3 bulbs with R7s bases. Using powerful LEDs, the bulb emits 550 lumens of cool white illumination in a wide 200° beam pattern. An integrated extruded aluminum heat sink keeps LEDs running cool, which leads to a life span that's 25 times longer than halogen bulbs. This energy-efficient 8-watt LED bulb replaces 40-watt halogen bulbs and operates within a wide 85-265 VAC range. Price per bulb.

1. Beam angle is used to express the width of the light emitting from the source. The narrower the beam angle the more focused the light energy is. Comparing two 40 watt lights one with a beam angle of 30(a) and another with a beam angle of 90(b), They both produce the same amount of light output but (a) will appear brighter in the beam angle compared to (b) at the sacrifice of light spread.

MORE LIGHT FOR LESS BUCKS

WOW. I thought I was going to have to trash my halogen lights in the house and barn. Not only do they spin the electric meter but they are very very hot.
Well these LED replacements are 1/18th of the voltage and they run cool and they work great for me indoors and outdoors in the barn and stables.

Gret T3 halogen replacement and pays for itself

I had an older Home Depot work light that was unusable except in completely outdoor situations because it puts off so much heat. I basically quit using it and purchased a smaller version that was still pretty hot but not as hot as the bigger T3 work light.

I saw this T3 replacement on Superbright and was a bit hesitant as it didn’t look like it would fit into my old T3 housing. However, I’m doing so much work in my kitchen remodel that I thought I’d give it a try and ordered one.

All I can say is WOW! It snapped into place pretty easily in my work light housing and fits snugly between the reflectors. I turned it on and worked for hours without the added heat from the light.

As one other reviewer points out, this bulb is significantly cooler and uses less energy. My background in engineering allows me the detailed understanding to actually compute it if I wanted to. Let’s just say that when you turn something on and you get light and heat - you are paying for both of those!

LED T3 Flood replacement bulb

The shipment arrived in three days ,standard shipping so that was great.
The bulb fit into my old fixture with no modification which I was really concerned about so also great there. The bulb is not as bright as I would it to be is approxmetly 1/2 to. 3/4 as bright as incandescent bulb but here is the reason I brought it. NO HEAT! So all tithings considered it's a great bulb!!!

Good replacement for the halogen bulb size

I use all daylight leds in my house, so when I replaced my kitchen table light, the halogen bulb was not going to work.

In the picture, the old halogen is on the left and the new LED is on the right. The LED is much cooler and looks much better since my kitchen has light colors.

Only thing I didnt like was that it is not as bright. Not a huge problem since I have can LED lights that take up the slack.

What I expected, but need a little more

This LED lamp was exactly as advertised. The color and lumen output are right on target. I wish I could get a higher equivalent wattage, like 100 or 150, and a lower color temp, like 2700 or 3000 - but the physical space limitations may make this impossible. I have ordered a photography lense to fix the color temp, but I am afraid I may lose even more lumens. I am trying to replace 150 watt halogen landscape lighting - economically. Not sure I will get there, but this is such a low price fix - it is worth the try.
