Overview
This household LED bulb can fit numerous applications where G4 Bi-Pin bulbs are used such as ceiling lights, wall fixtures, step lights, mini pendant lights and decorative sconce lights. The G4 LED disc has 21 LEDs (5050 SMD) with an output of up to 310 lumens at 3000K, 4000K, or 6000K. LEDs are mounted to one side of the disc for direct 120° illumination with no wasted light. Bi-Pin base for easy plug-and-play installation. The energy-efficient bulb uses only 3 watts of power; an incandescent bulb with comparable light output would consume 40 watts. This bulb has 12 VAC/DC operation and is designed to last 50,000 hours—42 times longer than incandescents. Available in natural, cool, and warm white. Price per bulb.

As many lumens as the halogen it replaced
Finally, LED's are getting bright enough and with the right color temperature. They use far less current and waste very little heat.
These are perfect for the ceiling "puck" lights in many RV's like my '01 Monaco Exec.
The only drawback is the high price. For the moment, a direct LED replacement for a G4 halogen is waaay too expensive.
With competition, this will change.
