great replacement bulb (ryobi worklight)

Replaced the incandescent bulb in a Ryobi worklight which uses their 18v interchangeable battery packs. Surprising performance from a one watt LED. Throws a very narrow spotlight beam. Less heat build up.

Power tool flashlight upgrade.

I purchased these as drop in replacements for a Dewalt and a Hitachi 12V flashlight. With the xenon bulb the standard 1.2 - 1.4 Ah batteries lasted about 1 1/2 hrs vs with these bulbs around 9 hrs. The Xenon bulbs are rated at 280 lumens and put out the yellowish light and appear only slightly brighter than these leds with the colder tint. I also converted a couple of these flashlights to take the 3 watt Cree R2 bulbs and the batteries lasted around 3 hrs and with the hassle to convert these bulbs are the way to go and the flashlight stays stock and the Xenon bulb can be your spare.

Great bulb

I'm not sure what people expect out of a 1W bulb. I wanted a bulb that fit my Mag-lite (2xD cells). The wife takes the dogs out and will leave the stock bulb running for 20 minutes at a time, and a set of two batteries will last a couple of weeks. I was looking for a bulb that would use less power and last longer. I can't speak to the longevity of this bulb yet. After doing vast reading on the internet about different bulbs like this one, they all say it sucks and there's not enough light, it can't focus etc.

I am happy to say that it's all false. If you have realistic expectations out of a bulb and want to upgrade your stock Mag-Lite bulb to an LED, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one. Can you signal extra terrestrial life with it? No. Provide enough light to see approx. (never measured) 100 feet in the dark? Yes (quite nicely, actually). Will it fit properly in the Mag-Lite? Yes. Can you still focus the beam? Yes. Will update with pics and longevity later.

Nice and bright in my Ryobi 18V flashlight

I got this to replace the old filament bulb in my Ryobi FL1800 18V flashlight. With any other flashlight using standard batteries, it probably makes more sense to buy a new flashlight with an LED bulb. But if you have a flashlight where you really need to keep the light, like it uses special batteries that match your other power tools, this is definitely a good option.

The light output is at least as good, if not brighter, than the original, and of course it runs a lot cooler and should be sipping the battery power, relatively speaking.

Stop paying for flashlight bulbs

Dewalt wants $11 bucks for two, and you bump the flashlight you break a filament. Great led not as bright as incandescent but close.
Thanks,
Robbie
