All specifications are subject to change without notice. 1. Millicandela is a unit of measurement for the light output of LEDs. Candela is one of the seven base units of the International System of Units. It is a unit of Luminous Intensity (I), or Light Power per Steradian (SR), while steradian is a unit of 3D cone angle with which the projected area of 1 steradian over a sphere with a 1m radius, is 1 square meter. One thousand millicandela equals one candela or approximately one candle power. |

Great long lasting high intensity IR-LED
I've been using these to make IR-LED incubators in my laboratory. We use them to grow photosynthetic bacteria on wavelengths of light greater than 800 nm. These are perfect LEDs because they are intense, run really cool, are really stable, and have a nice range of IR with a peak at around 850 nm. One of my arrays of ~12 LEDs has ran continuously for over a year without any of them burning out. I purchased another batch to build a different type of array for growing bacteria on Petri dishes. These also works great. I usually get drivers, dimmers, and heatsinks elsewhere, but that's no big deal. The only negative is the cost per LED. They are a bit pricey but if you get a bunch of them you can save a few bucks. Overall, a great product.
