Eats through batteries rendering it impractical
This design is pretty great in concept (underscore "in concept") - a mobile way to have lighting that is remote controlled without having to be hard wired. However, this device is useless. The batteries don't last long at all as the remote sensor has to stay on in order for the remote to turn the lights on. That that small trickle burns through the 8 AA batteries within a day or day. The solution from the customer service rep was to disconnect the battery source from the lights every time you're done with them. However, that's not practical and defeats the point of trying to have lights that can turn on remotely in the first place. The other thing is I have my lights and battery source hidden behind objects to illuminate outward. The nature of these lights are designed to be discreet and hidden. Therefore, accessing the batteries each and every time I want to turn off the lights is a hassle and not worth it. Unfortunately, I wasted my money on these.
