45-MDF LED Strip Channel - Corner

Product Characteristics

The lacquered angular extrusion made from MDF board, designed for flexible or rigid LED strips that are 8-10mm wide. One of the accessories offered for the extrusion are covers that shade and protect LEDs inside the profile. There are few types of covers: cover K (frosted or transparent) or HS (frosted or transparent). Covers are made of polycarbonate. Plastic 3D end caps are used for the extrusion as supplementary accessories. End caps protect the extrusion from dust and other undesirable elements, which can make LED strips dirty and consequently deteriorate the lighting parameters. The extrusion can be mounted to surfaces with the use of double-sided adhesive tape or mounting glue. Integrated, straight line of light can be achieved by assembling: the extrusion, frosted HS cover and densely spaced LEDs.

The extrusion with LED light source is designated for the interior use, especially as an integrated part of furniture pieces, to light or illuminate cabinets, glass-cases, shelving etc. MDF extrusion cannot be exposed to humidity, extreme heat or water.

Small dimensions, lightweight, easy assembly, profile’s frame forms 90 degree angle, environmentally friendly.

fits nicely

a bit bulky for the corner unit I'm installing it in but with a quick trim to one edge and using the same paint as the cabinet makers it's looking like it was built into the cabinet from the start.

Fragile, but works as intended

When cutting the MDF board to a 2" length for a small part of an LED strip light, the pieces would consistently crack in the thin corners where the LED strip mounts. Anything over 2" seemed to cut fine. Also using too much pressure when taping down the strips broke a couple of my pieces, and trying to brad-nail them into a permanent mounting location broke a few more. I may have been more rough than normal, or trying to cut and attach these in a manner outside of a normal use case, but it's worth noting how fragile they are. I needed something that could be easily cut to size, though, and this was the only thing I could find that would facilitate that. When it didn't break, they look and work excellent, and the frosted lens does an excellent job of diffusing the LED light to limit harsh shadows without significantly impacting the output. The sticky tape on the back of LED string lights seems to adhere well to the MDF material, and all of my lights are holding up well.
