LED Panel Lights

Our LED panel lights are ideal for replacing outdated fluorescent drop ceiling light fixtures. Available in common sizes like 2x2, 2x4, and 1x4, these panels are designed for easy installation into T-grid ceilings for a seamless fit. They last at least five times longer than traditional fluorescent tubes and provide uniform, glare-free illumination– making them perfect for indoor spaces such as offices, schools, hospitals, retail spaces, and other commercial environments. LED panel lights include integrated LEDs, so there’s no need to replace any bulbs or ballasts, saving on maintenance and repair costs. Each LED panel light is backed by a 7-year or 5-year warranty and ships same-day from our centrally located warehouse.

    Color Temperature

    Correlated Color Temperature is the hue, or tint of white to expect from a light source and is measured in kelvin. Lower numbers give off a warmer white that is closer to candle light, and is good for relaxed and cozy spaces. Higher numbers give off a cooler white light that will appear more blueish. While values to the middle of the spectrum give off a more neutral or natural white light that is similar to daylight. Natural and cool white are considered ideal for task lighting.

    0-10V Dimming: This type of dimming control is the most popular and newest style for compatible dimmable power supplies. It works by varying the voltage from 0 to 10 VDC. A 10-volt signal on the dimming wire will allow maximum current flow to the LEDs for maximum intensity. A 0.6-volt signal on the dimming wires allows 6% of the current to flow from the power supply, dimming the LEDs to approximately 6% of full intensity.

    1-10V Dimming: This type of dimming control is an older style that is being replaced with 0-10V dimming control. It works by varying the voltage from 1-10 VDC. A 10-volt signal on the dimming wire will allow maximum current flow to the LEDs for maximum intensity. A 1-volt signal on the dimming wire allows 10% of the current to flow from the power supply, which generates approximately 10% of the maximum intensity for the LEDs.

    TRIAC Dimming: TRIAC dimmers are typical household dimmers sold in hardware stores by brands like Lutron and Leviton. They rely on a semiconductor device called a TRIAC (Triode for Alternating Current). Adjusting the dimmer switch alters the timing at which the TRIAC conducts electricity in each AC cycle, modulating the energy delivered to the light bulb and resulting in adjustable brightness levels.

    Pulse-Width Modulation Dimming: This type of dimming control adjusts the output current based on the duty cycle. As the duty cycle increases, the current will increase, and the LEDs will be brighter. Conversely, if the duty cycle decreases, the current will decrease, and the LEDs will be dimmer.

    Resistive Dimming: Resistive dimming can be fixed or variable. If a fixed dimming level is required, a simple resistor is needed to dim the LEDs to a particular level. A potentiometer can serve this purpose if a varying dimmable level is desired. By changing the resistance value of the potentiometer, the output current of the power supply changes, and the LED intensity changes. Controlling a single power supply will require a 100K ohm potentiometer for 100% intensity (100K ohm) to approximately 10% intensity (10K ohm) based on the wiper position.

This product meets higher lumen and efficacy standards than are required for a normal DLC® classification. This classification also requires submission of a driver IN-SITU temperature measurement test (ISTMT) along with information regarding integral controls.
A product that bears an ETL-Certified label has been evaluated by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and meets national product safety standards. An ETL certification is accepted in the U.S. and in Canada.

What are LED light panels used for?

LED Light Panels are used for a variety of applications. Install them in commercial and residential T-grid ceilings for a sleek, modern lighting solution in offices, schools, and basements. Light Panels can also be installed as light boxes, displays, or sign lighting.

Do LED light panels get hot?

No, LED light panels do not get hot. However, it is recommended to provide proper airflow to maximize the LED's lifetime! If proper airflow is not provided the LEDs and the LED driver may overheat and subsequently fail.

What is the difference between Edge-Lit and Back-Lit LED Panels?

Edge-Lit

The edge-it panels have LEDs along the inside edge of the fixture, directing the light at the guide panel and diffuser lens to evenly distribute the light.

Back-Lit

The back-lit panels are constructed with LEDs on the back of the fixture, directing the light at the diffuser lens and creating a uniform light distribution.

Edge-lit and back-lit light panels are similar except for the way the LEDs are positioned.  Another difference between the two is that back-lit panels commonly have a larger profile than edge-lit due to the LED driver on the back of the fixture. With edge-lit light panels, the driver can be integrated into the frame of the fixture allowing the edge-lit light panel to be surface mounted directly to a junction box. Should I choose a light panel or a troffer?

Both fixtures are constructed for installation in T-grid drop ceilings found in offices, basements, and hotels and are commonly available in 2x2, 2x4, and 1x4 sizes. LED troffer lights and LED light panels can be used for similar applications, but with our edge-it Even-Glow® - LED Panel Lights you can surface mount them to a junction box on your wall to enhance your commercial or residential space.
