Products that generate radio frequency (RF) energy, such as RF remote controls and certain LED light bulbs, are tested to ensure that they are within the FCC's guidelines and limits and do not cause harmful interference.

How do I choose flood lights for commercial applications?

Selecting flood lights for your commercial space is determined by several factors that include but are not limited to; the size of your application area, the location or accessibility of your electrical power source, and the mounting options available. Using our website filters, shop by light distribution, brightness, mounting type, or by standards and certifications. For more assistance, contact our commercial department, or by calling 866-590-3533.

What flood light distribution pattern should I use?

Flood lights come in a variety of light distribution patterns, each one designed for a specific application. Narrow patterns such as NEMA 2x2 and NEMA 4x4 are designed for accent lighting applications. Medium flood patterns, like NEMA 5x6, are designed for general landscape and sign applications. Wide flood patterns such as NEMA 6x6 and higher are designed for pole-mounted applications and general area lighting. More specialized light distributions, such as Type-III, are used for specific applications like parking lots.

Why choose LED fixtures over HID lamps?

LEDs produce the longest-lasting, most energy-efficient lighting available today, making them the perfect choice for replacing outdated HID fixtures. LEDs run much cooler than HID bulbs and don’t require high running temperatures to work properly, which increases their longevity and enables them to function in cold temperatures. They can last up to 50,000 hours and consume less power—lasting three times longer than HID lights while consuming 80 percent less power, saving you money. In addition, LEDs illuminate instantly, unlike HID bulbs which can take several minutes to reach full brightness. LED fixtures have the diodes integrated into the fixture, eliminating pesky bulb replacements and continued maintenance on the fixture. Shop our line of flood lights in various color temperatures and RBG colors to save you money on energy and maintenance!

Should I choose a spotlight or flood light?

Spotlights and flood lights are similar except for the beam angle. Spotlights are ideal for narrow accent lighting applications and longer throw applications like flag poles. Flood lights are ideal for more general lighting and can be used in a larger variety of applications. For more information, visit our “Spotlights Vs. Floodlights: What’s the Difference?” article.

Which color temperature is best for my application?

Color temperature can enhance your application. When replacing metal halide fixtures, 5000K cool white or 4000K natural white are the best replacements. Cool white and natural white light is also the best for visibility if you are using the LED flood light for security lighting, sign lighting, and general area lighting. To determine if 4000K or 5000K is the correct choice for you, think about your application setting and determine the level of visibility you want. If you are using flood lights to illuminate your landscape or add accent lighting to your business, use 3000K warm white. Warm white has a higher level of yellow light in the beam, creating soft, glare-free lighting perfect for landscapes and accents.

For endless possibilities and enhanced customization, select a flood light with selectable CCT or RGB and tunable white. We offer fixtures with field-selectable CCT, selecting from 3000K, 4000K, or 5000K. Selectable CCT fixtures allow you to customize the fixture to your application, giving you full control of your lighting. It is also beneficial for matching the color temperature of an existing system.

Do you have color-changing flood lights?

Our smart RGB and tunable white lights give you selectable white light along with a wide variety of RGB lighting, providing you with the ability to change your lighting to a pop of color around the holidays or decorate your exterior in company colors. Our smart LED flood lights also are app-controlled, allowing you to control the fixture from your phone or tablet. To shop our line of RGB Smart Flood Lights, use our "LED Color" filter on the left side of our site or click "here".

What mounting options do you offer?

We offer a range of mounting options for adjustable and secure installation. Many of our lights come with a mount included and with a range of compatible mounting options.

Slip-fitters slide over a pole, post, or tenon and tighten in place. For this type of mount, diameter is very important as each slip fitter will only work with a certain diameter range. This type of mount is typically adjustable horizontally for aiming purposes as well.

Yoke mounts also attach to a flat surface, but they attach to the side of the light by wrapping around them in a one-piece design. These are considered one of the most versatile in terms of mounting and can perform well in just about any location.

Knuckle mounts install directly into a junction box. Screw the fixture into the knockout using the conduit threading. These mounts also have an adjustable knuckle to direct the light where it is needed.

I am looking to replace metal halide fixtures. What is your selection of comparable wattages?

Replacing outdated metal halide fixtures will save you money on energy bills and maintenance costs. We offer flood lights in a variety of wattages, so you can match and replace outdated fixtures. Use our website filters to make your search easier, selecting the compatible wattage that best fits your needs. For more assistance, contact our customer service department by calling 866-590-3533 or by emailing us anytime!

Can I use a photocell with my flood light?

Yes, most LED flood lights are compatible with photocells. Connecting a photocell to your flood light will only have the light operate when needed, saving you money on your energy bill! Shop our line of flood lights with photocell by using the “Photocell  Options” filter on the left side of the page or click "here".

What voltages do you offer?

We offer LED flood lights in standard 120-277V for commercial installations and 12V low-voltage flood lights for landscape applications. Use the filters on the left side of our website to shop by the voltage you need for your lighting project.
